Supermarket retailers are starting to pay attention to the growing demand for sneaker shoes by taking on the adidas model.
The new model has been a hit in many retail spaces, including the Supermarket, where it’s currently sold out of Ultra Boosts.
Adidas has not released an official sales forecast for the Ultra Boost model, but according to a report from Forbes , sales of the sneaker are expected to reach nearly $100 million by the end of the year.
Forbes notes that the Ultra-boost model is a crossover, which means it will only appeal to sneaker enthusiasts and those who want a more athletic shoe.
With that in mind, the sneak is expected to be the first of a new line of Ultra-Boosts that will come out later this year.
The sneaker will be available in four colorways: black, white, blue and red.
While it is unclear whether the Ultraboost models will be exclusively sold through the Supermarkets or the retail stores, Forbes notes that Adidas will be targeting the UltraBoost model as a more “luxury” option.
As for the shoes themselves, the adizero model will be released sometime in 2018 and the UltraBOOST model will debut in 2019.
