Woodman, the world’s largest woodworking and woodworking accessories store, announced Monday it would close its flagship store in the city’s central business district.
The store, located at 1501 Pennsylvania Ave., was the latest in a string of closures Woodman has made over the last few years, which include closing a second store in Austin, Texas and relocating its U.S. headquarters to China.
The company is also closing a number of stores across the U.K., Canada and Ireland, the company said in a statement.
Woodman, which has a store on Pennsylvania Avenue in Manhattan, has been in business since 1875.
The Woodman site is located at the intersection of 15th and Broadway.
